God Is Great, God Is Good
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. -Psalm 48:1 (KJV)
God Is Great, And God Is Good
As small children, the first Christian tradition I taught my children was to pray before every meal.
“God is great. God is good. Let us thank Him for our food.”
We repeated this short prayer repeatedly before breakfast, lunch, supper, and before each morning, mid-day, and evening snack. It was simple and to the point and easy to remember.
The words were not complicated at all, but the truth of the prayer was way past their understanding.
God Is Great.

- God does good -Psalm 86:5
God’s Goodness Is Showing
- In creation -Genesis 1:31
- In His Law -Romans 7:12
- In His gifts -James 1:17
God’s Goodness Leads To Salvation
- We love the Father because He loved us -1 John 4:19
- We have eternal life because Jesus paid for our redemption -John 3:36
- We are the temple of the Holy Spirit -1 Corinthians 3:16
