What Are The Ten Commandments
And God spoke these words saying, I am the Lord thy God… Exodus 20:2a
Everyone has heard of the Ten Commandments, I would assume. But before reading any further, can you name all ten commandments from memory?
Now, please don’t scroll down and look, and don’t google them. Just think about it for a minute.
Can you name them?
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for the people of Israel because He had a special place in His heart for this nation, and He wanted to keep them accountable to Himself and each other. We have the Ten Commandments for the very same reason; we are special to God. He wants those of us who have chosen to follow Him to keep His laws. These laws won’t save us or keep us afterward, but following them will keep our lives aligned with God’s will.
Were you able to name any of them? Or all of them?

- Love God
- Love everyone as much as you love yourself
